STATESBORO, Ga. — Waypoint Network today announced a partnership with Georgia Southern University Athletics to deploy its loyalty commerce travel platform and launch GATA.Travel, a dedicated travel revenue share program for the Eagle Nation community. The program generates recurring, net-new revenue for Georgia Southern across multiple travel categories.
Alongside the travel platform, Waypoint and Georgia Southern will begin using Waypoint's Fan Atlas™ for Eagle Nation — Waypoint's proprietary fan intelligence and mobilization platform. The Fan Atlas will map Georgia Southern's extended supporter network, identifying the fans and influencers within Eagle Nation who carry the highest reach and engagement across social and digital channels. The people and data power a structured fan and influencer marketing program, enabling Georgia Southern Athletics to activate authentic advocates at scale, extend recruiting visibility, and grow the GATA.Travel community from within the fan base itself.
"We're always looking for ways to make it easier for Eagle Nation to support our student-athletes, whether they're cheering in Statesboro or following our teams on the road," said Director of Athletics Chris Davis. "Our partnership with Waypoint gives our fans a trusted resource to handle all of their travel needs, allowing them to focus on creating memories and supporting Georgia Southern, all while supporting our student-athletes in this new era. We look forward to seeing more blue and white in the stands across the country and beyond as we continue to grow the passion and reach of Eagle Nation."
GATA.Travel will serve Georgia Southern's broader fan base, giving Eagle Athletic Foundation members, donors, alumni and program supporters a single destination to book the game-day trips, post-season travel and global vacation bookings they were already planning, with a portion of every booking returned to GSU Athletics.
With the launch of GATA.Travel, fans can now plan every aspect of their Eagle road trip. Away game tickets for the 2026 Georgia Southern football season are officially on sale through gseagles.com/tickets. Fans can book hotels through GATA.Travel.
"Georgia Southern has one of the most geographically tight-knit, identity-driven fan bases in the Sun Belt — Eagle Nation is a real community, not just a slogan," said Matt Sanders, Co-Founder and CEO of Waypoint. "What the Fan Atlas does is make their vibrant community of fans visible and reachable. We can see who the connectors are, who the travelers are, and who the influencers are. GATA.Travel gives that network somewhere to go — and every booking turns fan loyalty into real dollars for the department. And, we believe this joint effort will turn into more ways fans can engage in supporting the program."
