Waypoint Network, Inc., the fan-powered loyalty commerce platform generating recurring revenue for collegiate athletic programs, recently announced a strategic representation agreement with Dan Barrett, CEO and Founder of Grandezza Sports Solutions, to drive business development and partnership expansion on behalf of Waypoint across university athletic departments and conference properties nationwide.
The agreement positions Grandezza Sports as Waypoint's primary strategic representative in the collegiate athletics market, bringing one of the industry's most connected and experienced revenue operators to the work of introducing Waypoint's novel combination of a branded travel portal and Fan Atlas™ to athletic directors, NIL collectives, and conference leadership at scale.
"Bringing Dan into Waypoint's market expansion is a force multiplier," said Matt Sanders, Co-Founder and CEO of Waypoint. "The doors that take years to open through traditional channels, Dan has been walking through for three decades. He understands the financial pressures athletic departments are facing right now — NIL obligations, revenue sharing, donor fatigue, transfer portal — and he knows exactly how to position a zero-cost, recurring revenue program in that environment. This is the right partnership at the right moment."
"Waypoint has built something genuinely different in the collegiate athletics space — a loyalty focused model initially focused on a huge spending category, travel, that creates sustainable, recurring revenue from fan behavior that's already happening," said Dan Barrett, CEO and Founder of Grandezza Sports Solutions. "Athletic departments don't need another ask. They need new revenue that arrives without adding cost or complexity. That's exactly what Waypoint delivers, and I'm looking forward to bringing this to the programs and conferences I've spent my career serving."
Barrett brings more than 30 years of collegiate athletics revenue experience to the role, including 18 years at ISP Sports and IMG College in senior conference relationship roles spanning the ACC and Conference USA, followed by executive leadership at 4Topps Premium Seating and the founding of Grandezza Sports Solutions. His career spans multimedia rights, NIL strategy and management, naming rights, stadium seating, and brand partnerships — giving Waypoint reach across every major revenue category where athletic departments are seeking outside expertise in the current NCAA landscape.
The partnership launches as Waypoint accelerates its national expansion following live deployments at West Virginia University and BYU, and a recently executed consortium agreement with Unisun Sports covering 17 ASUN and UAC member institutions, and several yet to be announced programs. Athletic departments and conference properties interested in a revenue projection conversation are encouraged to reach out to Dan directly at dan@grandezzasports.com.
